Short answer: It depends on how much movement we need!
Invisalign has a limit of how much of any given movement you can get in each aligner so that it fits comfortably and we can move the teeth predictably. For example, we can’t just give you one tray of perfectly straight teeth and expect that to work! The amount of movement varies – rotation is different than up & down movement which is different than in & out movement, etc.
Each set of aligners is worn full time (22 hrs/day) for 7 – 14 days. Some trickier movements require more time and if you’re not getting the full 22 hours we can’t go faster. Some patients choose to use a treatment accelerator device called VPro5 that allows us to change the trays every 7 days.
This is one question that I can’t really give you an “average” for – because each case is so specific to each patient’s mouth. Give us a call at (707) 938 – 5255 and we can look at your teeth and estimate a time for your specific movement needs.
